    Living Room Bookcases (in-progress)

    Started: May 2011

    Idea: built-in bookcases to flank the fireplace in our living room.  Will incorporate some salvage vintage doors on the right-side bookcase.

    Planned Features:
    • Internal wiring for power and cable TV, as well as runs for any DVD/VCR/game console/etc. cables
    • recessed lighting for the top-shelf on each side
    • external lighting (attached to the top front of each side) -- generally in the picture-frame-light style (thought not the one shown -- it's just for general concept)

    I'm getting better using Google Sketchup!  Notice the salvaged glass-pane doors on the right-hand side.  You can't tell because this is 2D, but the lower cabinets on each side actually jut farther than the tall shelves, creating a small counter top on each side.
